Activities

Fondazione Albero Rosso works as a single ecosystem: building and running a school in one of the most inaccessible regions of Nepal, while ensuring food, healthcare and logistics for the surrounding community.

Every project you support is not an isolated action, but a piece of a larger picture — where education, nutrition and medical care hold each other together, and where even the smallest contribution makes a difference.

Healthcare

Bringing medical care where no one else reaches

In Dolpo, falling ill can mean having no one to turn to. We have built a real and lasting healthcare facility: a physical place to receive care, the tools to provide it, and a qualified professional to be there.

  • The clinic — A healthcare reference point for the entire community, a space that did not exist before and today represents a certainty.
  • Medical kits — Essential supplies to handle everyday emergencies, where hospitals and pharmacies are out of reach.
  • The doctor — A professional who travels to Dolpo at different times of the year, ensuring visits and continuity of care.

School

Education, care and daily life for the children of Dolpo

The school is not just a place to learn, but a space where children find warmth, food and attention. Keeping it running requires people, materials and resources every single day.

  • Teachers’ salaries — Without regularly paid teachers, there is no school.
  • Students’ tuition — Every funded tuition is a future that doesn’t go to waste.
  • Books, notebooks and learning materials — They come from far away, with great effort, and that makes them even more valuable.
  • Shoes and clothing — In a cold mountain territory, having proper shoes is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.
  • Hot meals: the school cook — Often the most nutritious meal of the day for many of these children.

Constructions

One brick at a time, structures built to last

Building in Dolpo is unlike building anywhere else. Every material must be carried by hand or by mule, every professional must reach places that are hardly accessible.

  • Materials: cement, pillars, doors and windows — Common elsewhere, but here they require an enormous effort just to reach their destination.
  • Energy: solar panels — Bringing electricity where the grid does not reach, so people can study and work even after sunset.
  • Professionals: builders and engineer — The people who turn materials into safe and lasting buildings.

Food and Autonomy

Feeding the community, growing independence

Ensuring food in a remote area means planning months in advance. Alongside immediate supply, we invest in solutions that make the community increasingly self-sufficient.

  • Annual potato supply — Simple, essential, indispensable.
  • Fruit trees — A gesture that looks far ahead, creating a renewable food source for future generations.
  • Gas cylinders — For safe and efficient cooking even in the harshest seasons.

Logistics

The backbone of everything else

Dolpo cannot be reached by conventional means. Every bag of cement, every book, every medicine must travel mountain trails to reach its destination. Logistics is the condition that makes everything else possible.

  • The mules — They carry food, materials and medicine to the heart of the community. Without them, no project could exist.
  • The firewood — Used both to heat the school during harsh Himalayan winters and to cook daily meals.

Don't know where to start?

Even a free donation makes a difference. Every contribution is directed where it’s needed most, with the same care and transparency as always.
